Mosaic Days 2026

"Dialogues between mosaic and stained glass"

The second edition of the Mosaic Days, held from January 16 to 25, 2026, in Chambourcy, brought mosaics and stained glass into dialogue.

Two exhibitions, "The Colors of the Invisible" at the Salle Hubert Yencesse and "At the Origins of Drawing" at the Maison André Derain, revealed the secrets of mosaic works and stained glass. They highlighted the similarities and differences between these two art forms.

Light plays a fundamental role. It makes the colors vibrate and reveals the patterns. Connection is an omnipresent concept in both mosaics and stained glass. It can take the form of a joint in mosaics and a lead came in stained glass, but it unites and composes the pieces of material into a complete work.

GUEST AND EXHIBITED ARTISTS AND CRAFTS

  • Atelier Albertini: A family business founded in 1925, the only French manufacturer of glass slabs and enamels, and a preferred partner of mosaic artists and master glassmakers.
  • Bang Hai Ja: A leading Korean artist. Working between painting, calligraphy, and stained glass, she explores light as a vital energy in poetic and spiritual works.
  • Maya Husseini: Lebanon's first female master glassmaker, she restores and creates stained glass windows for numerous religious, cultural, and private buildings worldwide. She blends the tradition of glassmaking with her contemporary sensibility.
  • Atelier Loire: Founded in 1946 by Gabriel Loire in Lèves, near Chartres. This dynasty of master glassmakers, spanning four generations, combines tradition and contemporary creation through the production of stained glass windows in lead and slab glass. They design commissions for monumental buildings in France and abroad, including the new stained-glass windows and mosaic for the Sainte-Clotilde Church in Chambourcy.
  • Rachel Maisonneuve: An artist based in Switzerland, she creates monumental glass installations and sound installations that question our perceptions and transform matter into a living sensory experience.
  • Sylvie Rabussier: An artist, mosaicist, and visual artist, she creates monumental artworks primarily for public commissions. In parallel, Sylvie explores transparency and light through compositions inspired by the trees of the Désert de Retz.
